Why a fox
Foxes are curious, quick and a little shy at first — which is roughly how most people feel the moment a stranger's face appears on their screen. The name stuck. The logo is a fox; the call happens in your browser tab; the rest is up to the two people on the call.
What it is
A random 1-on-1 video chat. Each call has exactly two people in it — you and whoever pressed start at about the same moment. There are no group rooms and nobody watching from the side. It works on phones and computers in a recent version of Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox, with nothing to download.
The first thirty seconds
- Press start. There is no sign-up form; you begin as a guest.
- When a match is found, your browser asks for the camera and microphone. Allow both.
- The other person appears. Say hello.
- A few seconds in, Next unlocks if you want someone new. Hanging up works at any point.
A matched call usually starts with a free period. Before it ends, a notice on screen tells you the call will continue at a set number of coins per minute, so you always know before anything is charged.
Beyond the call
- Messages — keep talking by text with people you have met.
- Profiles — an avatar, a nickname, photos and a short bio, if you want them.
- Posts and Moments — share something publicly and see what others share.
- Clubs — topic-based spaces for people who want something more organised than chance.
- Coins and VIP — paid extras, priced on the purchase pages.
Who it suits
Adults who like meeting new people without arranging it first; people who would rather see a face than read a profile; anyone practising a language or just bored on a Sunday evening; people who want a public profile or a club to belong to; and people who want the rules written down in plain words.
It does not suit anyone under 18 — they may not use it — or anyone looking for explicit content, which our community guidelines ban.
What we care about
- Simplicity. It should feel light and obvious, especially on a phone.
- Safety and order. Reporting, blocking, restrictions and risk controls exist to keep abuse down.
- Openness. How your information is handled and what the rules are should be readable without a lawyer.
- Getting better. The product is adjusted over time as user needs, operations and the law move on.
Rules and contact

Harassment, fraud, impersonation, unsafe behaviour, infringement and payment abuse lead to restrictions or stronger action. Report and Block live on every person's profile.
