Cookie Policy

Cookies are small files a website leaves in your browser. FoxChat Video uses them, along with similar browser storage, so you can stay signed in and so we can see how the site is used. This page lists the kinds and how to switch them off.

The four kinds we use

KindWhat it doesIf you block it
EssentialKeeps you signed in, holds your session together, and stores a device identifier that helps us stop fake accounts, fraud and abuse. You cannot stay signed in or start a chat reliably.
FunctionalRemembers choices such as your language and your match filters.Your settings reset each visit.
PerformanceRemembers the page and link you first arrived from, and counts how visitors move around the site.Nothing visible changes for you.
AnalyticsGoogle Analytics measures overall usage: pages viewed, visits and the like. It only runs if you choose Accept all in the cookie banner.Nothing visible changes for you.

We do not list individual cookie names or lifetimes here because they change as the service is updated. If you want to know what a specific cookie on foxchat.video is, your browser's developer tools show every one, and you can ask us.

Browser storage

Besides cookies, the site keeps values in your browser's local storage. They fall into a handful of groups:

  • Your sign-in, so a guest or registered session survives a page reload. A copy is also kept in a cookie, which is how a home-screen shortcut on iPhone stays signed in.
  • A device identifier used to spot fake accounts, fraud and abuse.
  • Your settings: language and match filters.
  • Where you came from: the first page you landed on and the link that brought you, so we can tell which links send visitors.
  • Speed-ups: recently viewed profiles and match details, so pages open faster.
  • One-time markers, so the same step (such as finishing registration or a first purchase) is not processed or counted twice.

These values stay on your device until you clear them. Clearing them signs you out and resets your settings.

Other companies’ pages

Signing in with Google or Apple, and paying for coins, takes you through pages run by those companies or by payment providers. They set their own cookies under their own policies, which this page does not cover. The same goes for any link that takes you off foxchat.video.

Your cookie choice

The first time you visit, a banner at the bottom of the screen asks about analytics. Accept all lets Google Analytics run; Essential only keeps it off. Until you answer, it stays off. The banner only controls analytics: the essential, functional and performance storage described above is part of how the site works and is not switched by it. You can change your answer at any time.

Clearing and blocking

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Delete browsing data.
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data; on iPhone, Settings → Safari.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.

Clearing data for foxchat.video signs you out and ends any guest session. Private or incognito windows discard everything when closed. Blocking essential cookies will stop parts of the site from working.

Changes

If we change the kinds of cookies we use or what the banner asks, this page will be updated and the date at the top changed. More detail on how information is handled is in the privacy policy. Questions: [email protected].
