On camera
Most of what goes wrong in a random video chat happens in the first seconds, so start there. Keep your camera on yourself and keep your clothes on. Say hello before you judge. If the conversation is not for you, tap Next or hang up — there is no need to be rude on the way out.
Do not record or screenshot the other person, and do not share their image or anything they told you, unless they have clearly agreed. Do not ask for, or give out, phone numbers, addresses or social media handles to people who have not asked for them. Never move a conversation toward money.
Seven ground rules
- Respect people. No attacks on anyone for who they are or what they think.
- Respect privacy. Other people's personal information is not yours to publish.
- No inappropriate material. Nothing explicit, violent, gory or terror-related.
- Follow the law. Local law applies to you, and laws protecting minors above all.
- No false information. No fake advertising, fraud or misleading promotion.
- Report what you see. Telling us is how problems get fixed.
- Protect minors. Anything that harms a minor's rights or safety is dealt with seriously.
Banned content, by place
Different parts of a profile get different lists. Before uploading, check the row for where it will appear.

Face authentication
A face verification video has to be filmed by you, well lit, and show your face uncovered. Your avatar, video show, photos and verification video all have to show the same person; if they do not, the verification will not be approved. Someone else's footage, or footage of someone else, does not count.
If you see a problem
End the call first. Then open the other person's profile, where you will find Report and Block. Report sends the account to us with a reason; Block puts them on your blocked list (you can undo it later). If you need to add detail, or the issue is not tied to a single profile, email [email protected]. Anything involving a child should also follow the steps on the child safety page.
Penalties
How we respond depends on how serious the violation is and how often it has happened:
- A warning for a first or minor violation;
- a temporary suspension of account features for repeated or moderate ones;
- a permanent suspension for severe violations or repeated serious ones.
We decide the appropriate action based on what happened. Content may also be removed. The full list of enforcement steps is in the terms of service.
